Zebra and the Sunflower Vase
This piece is shaped by the contrast between matte and glossy surfaces and tells the story of two distinct presences.
The zebra, defined only by its black and white stripes, stands at the edge of shadow; it represents a quiet elegance made possible without the use of color.
The sunflower, with its vivid tones, carries the presence of light and the moment in which life begins to unfold.
The meeting of these two forms on the same surface creates the central tension of the work:
the encounter of color and colorlessness, of silence and visibility, of darkness and emergence.
This piece tells the slow moment in which something begins to rise out of the dark.
