The historic Amsterdam VOC ship comes alive on the surface of the vase. A story flowing from one end to the other.

 At first, the bursting green tones draw us in. The elegant ornaments and the shimmering decorative language create an aesthetic encounter.

Then the form leads us to a completely different detail. A lion. Quite intimidating compared to the refinement of the opposite side. Sharp, protective, and at times holding a shadow within itself.

The yellow flow moving between the two sides ties the story together. The form turns within itself, touches from one side to the other, and finally creates a unified presence.

A dance between strength and elegancy.
