The Anatomy of Dual Impulse Vase

The Anatomy of Dual Instinct brings together two opposing forces of human nature within a single form.

On one side, The Anatomy of Desire emerges through a leopard figure set against a deep midnight blue background. Crowned with a mane of flames, the figure embodies passion, untamed impulse, and primal force. It is alive, restless, and demanding. Its gaze is turned inward, toward its own fire.

On the opposite side, The Anatomy of Restraint unfolds in softer, lighter tones. A winged, flower headed figure stands with hands crossed over the chest, symbolizing control, introspection, and spiritual discipline. This side is quiet, composed, and deliberate. A conscious counterbalance to desire.

Between these two narratives lies a pale blue transitional panel marked with star like motifs. This space acts as a threshold rather than a division. It is a moment of pause where conflict softens into contemplation. It represents the human moment of choice.

Drawing from medieval manuscripts and tarot iconography, the illustrative language merges with contemporary surrealism, transforming the vase into more than a decorative object. It becomes a rotating narrative that reveals a different truth with every turn.

Entirely hand painted, this piece is the material expression of a singular inner conflict.

 Less a vessel, more a portable map of the psyche.
